  Capital Punishment MTB Enduro 2012
Hi Brian

Just a week left till you all line up at the 2012 Capital Punishment MTB Enduro.  With the little bit of rain we have had in Canberra the tracks are now in perfect condition.  Luckily the course is not down in the south of Canberra! The forecast for the week doesn't look too bad either so with a bit of luck you could be in for the best track conditions ever.

Some Updates:

The updated Competitor Brief can be downloaded from the website.  Make sure you read this document thoroughly.  At the end you will also find the indemnity form which you need to sign and bring with you to registration.  The cut-off times have also been updated. These have changed for the 100km with the new addition of Sparrow Hill.

A map of the untimed section is on the web.  If you are not a local check this out before the race so you know where the closest shops are if you wish to take a break or grab some supplies on the way. Also pass this on to your friends and family and encourage them to line the streets and cheers on all the riders.

It is getting a little colder in the mornings.  The forecast for Saturday race day is minimum 3 degrees but will warm up to a max 17 degrees. Don't forget we have the drop bag service available.  At registration you will receive a plastic bag.  You can use this to put some extra clothes etc.   Drop it off at your respective start and we will take it to the finish.  Make sure you label the bag clearly with your race number.

Presentation is at 3pm at Stromlo.  Busses will take riders and bikes from Stromlo to each of the 50km and 100km start locations so you can collect your car.  It is about a 90 minute round trip so factor this in to your day so you don't miss the presentation.

Don't forget to have your young family join the fun with the Kids race at Stromlo Forest Park starting at 1pm.  We will also have a jumping castle, local Canberra band and of course all the food vans.

Registration on Friday 27 April is from 4pm - 9:45pm at CIT (Canberra Institute of Technology) Reid Campus within the Hall in Block E. There is plenty of parking in the car park opposite on Constitution Ave.

Timing - we are using a different timing system to previous events called Chronotrack.  This is the system used by the City to Surf event and is meant to be the most accurate and reliable system around.  It does however require a new way of attaching your timing tag to the front of your bike.  Please see the special instructions for this.

We are please to announce that Cycle City, a very supportive local Canberra bike store, will be providing mechanical assistance on race day at the following locations:
50km and 100km starts
38km feed (100km event)
58km feed (10km event)
