Course

Start and finish at Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung.  AIMS Certified, hilly and scenic road course beside High Island Reservoir.  Marathon runners cover much of the route twice.  Marathon time limit is six hours, Half Marathon time limit is 4 hours.

Facilities
Competitors bag storage (uncovered, all bags left at own risk) in grounds of Po Leung Kuk Camp, changing rooms, showers and toilets at Po Leung Kuk Camp, canteen at Po Leung Kuk, First Aid at start/finish and on course, water stations at approximately 5 km intervals, distance markers at 5 km intervals. Sports drinks for full marathon competitors. No bottled water will be given out on course. Reusable water bottles will be distributed at the Finish, in accordance with AVOHK's 'Use less plastic policy'.

Trophies and Finisher Souvenirs
All finishers will receive a commemorative t-shirt, medal and refreshments.
Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the overall top three finishers in each race.
Top 3 AVOHK male and female members in each race will receive a trophy and cash prize. (AVOHK members are not eligible for this prize if they finish in overall top 3)
The John Lane Tankard will be awarded to the first veteran AVOHK member to finish in the Full Marathon.
The top finishers in each category will received trophies indicated under each category below.

Open to athletes aged 18 or over on race day. 
Categories for full marathon and half marathon are based on your age on 28th January 2018. 
Trophy's and prizes awarded according to table below. 
AVOHK members (at date of event registration) are eligible for additional prizes and trophy's.

Transport Buses to the start, free for competitors, but you must book during on-line registration.

PARKING AT VENUE EXTREMELY LIMITED. THE POLICE WILL TICKET PARKING OFFENDERS. 

If you are driving to the race by car please park at the car park entered from Mei Fuk Street in Sai Kung and take the AVOHK  race bus departing Mei Yu Street outside Sai Kung Police Station.  Buses will depart from this location at 6.15 am and 6.45 am.  Or take a taxi to Pak Tam Chung.

Post race return buses at approximately 30 minute intervals from Pak Tam Chung to University MTR station (first bus leaves at 10:30am, last bus leaves at 2:30pm)  Buses places for non-competitors are available at HK$50 per person (book during the registration process)

Entry Fee

HK$400 (AVOHK members HK$350) on or before 20th December 2017.
HK$500 (AVOHK members HK$450) on or after 21st December 2017. 
Entry Fees are NON REFUNDABLE.
Entry Closes on 20 January 2018 or earlier if races are full
Entries are strictly Non- transferable
ENTRY LIMIT 1,900 (700 for full marathon; 1,200 for half marathon)

  • Race Number bib and timing device  - a number bib incorporating timing device will be provided to each runner. These will be distributed on race day between 6.00 am and 7.30 am on production of the race confirmation letter/email or online registration record. Please arrive early to avoid the queues.
  • No Transferring of Number Bib - any runners found to have transferred the bib and timing device will be disqualified.
  • Finisher's Certificate Finisher’s certificate with name, time and position is available for HK$50 (inclusive of postage).
  • Entry Changes – No changes between races can be accepted after 20th January. Race change fee is HK$50. If you change race pick up your race pack from the Enquiries Desk on race day and bring the race change fee in the exact amount of cash.
