National Tennis League (NTL) - Player Nomination Form

The most significant new initiative in Australian competition tennis takes its first steps in October 2011 with the launch of the National Tennis League (NTL) pilot.

NTL-SA and NTL-WA will consist of men’s and women’s leagues that will each be made up of six teams and will run over six weeks, while NTL-Vic will be made of up four weeks and will have a four-week season. The round dates have been carefully scheduled as not to conflict with currently existing competitions. The top two teams from each NTL conference will then meet in Melbourne during the second week of the Australian Open to participate in the National Playoff to determine the national champion teams.

Along with raising the profile of tennis on a national level, a primary objective of the NTL is to increase player income opportunities, and as such Tennis Australia is funding base player payments and team prize money in excess of $50,000 per NTL conference.

The vision of the NTL is innovative, and as a pilot program, will be the start of a journey towards a fully fledged nation-wide franchised league with eventual reach into the Asian region.

The NTL Player nomination period has now closed. Should you ave any further questions, please contact the below listed event directors:
