Hints on how to do the wheelbarrow challenge
• The entry form says a team of 4 but you are allowed 1 extra support person who can rotate jobs with the other team members giving each member the opportunity of having a break from pushing or pulling.
• It is perfectly ok if all the team members rotate the jobs as well.
• The person in the wheelbarrow is usually someone light - often a young person. This person is advised to wear a helmet and kneepads and it is best to put cushions in the wheelbarrow for the person to sit and lie back on.
• Ropes or webbing is used to pull the wheelbarrow. We have some big ropes for this job and you are most welcome to come in and get a pair if you want to practice before hand - 16 Clifton Court.

Comments and Feedback from 2008
"Just a brief note to say how much I enjoyed my first
King of the Mountain event (the 11km walk). It was also interesting to see the
Panmure shopping precinct after so many years. It is quite impressive and full
marks to the Progressive Panmure Business Association for its efforts in
revitalising business in the town and for supporting King of the Mountain. For
those of us who live outside Panmure-Mt Wellington, Panmure and the Tamaki
Estuary are gems. The King of the Mountain event makes excellent use of what
Panmure has to offer and long may the event continue. I commend the organisers
and the sponsors" -- Graeme Hunt, Titirangi
"Thank you to you ,your sponsors, and volunteers for a
very enjoyable and well organised event. Even the weather came right! We Plan
to be back again next year." Kind Regards, Alan, Mike, Nick,&Sam
