This iconic event in the Barossa Valley is in it's third year.  The event incorporates the 2012 Australian Duathlon Championship and South Australian Duathlon Championship being held by Triathlon South Australia as part of the Australian Duathlon Series.  It also incorporates the Oceania Championships for Elite competitors.

A feature of this course is the ride over Menglers Hill as used in the Tour Down Under, with added bonus athletes get to go over it twice.

Friends and family are not left out as the looped run course gives plenty of opportunity to see the athletes twice on each lap on the run and twice on the bike as well.  We have improved the layout of transition and the finish area to make it more spectator friendly.

The feature event consists of 10km run followed by a 40km bike and completed with a 5km run.

There is also the Lynas Auto Group Short Course event consisting of a 2.5km run a 20km bike and a 2.5km run.

This event is also the Triathlon SA State Duathlon Championships and first race in the Triathlon SA State Series for season 2012-2013.

Presentations for the Australian Championships this year will be held at Seppeltfield Function Centre where we will provide athletes with a sumptious post event lunch and refreshments.  This is included as part of your entry.  Extra lunches are available to purchase for supporters and short course participants.

Presentations for the short course will be while the Australian Championships are in progress.

The Barossa Duathlon is on Sunday 7th October, so why not make a weekend of it, and enjoy the Barossa?  For further details on the Barossa Valley including accomodation visit www.barossa.com.
